Overview

The customer was looking for a high availability solution for their industrial server. Using Intouch SCADA.

Challenges

There is a target switchover time for the server. Previously, using DellEMC workstation it took about 1 minute to switch over and another 3 minutes to boot up the application. During that total period of 4mins, there was a ‘blind’ period and data loss. It also requires to purchase of 2 RDS licenses for viewing on 2 separate ThinClients.

Solutions

Stratus ztcEdge100i is a specially developed HA industrial server that has no moving parts and can be installed within a control panel and located nearby the skid. Furthermore, when tested on using the Intouch SCADA, ztcEdge100i able to achieve a 10second switchover from Node 0 to Node 1 and boot up of application in another 1 minute. A total of 70 seconds to switch over and run. With ztcEdge100i, only 1 license is required.
